Proposition 8 Polls

Here is an article that I believe is extremely important to show the importance of the race. The "no on 8" campaign has raised over 20 million dollars in opposition to prop 8. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints" is the head of supporters along with Churches statewide banning together to presserve marriage to its rightful title.

Whats with the attacks?

I have been talking to those who oppose protecting the sanctity of marraiage online on myspace and facebook and one thing I don't understand is the constant hatred that I am faced with. It is unfortunate, although I do enjoy knowing that I am on the right side of the argument, those that I talk to always seem to resort in telling me that I am "judging", "hating", or "taking away the rights of gays". I alway rebuttle by letting them know that I do not hate homosexuals then re-emphasize that it is not the person who I hate but what they are practicing. Also that the only thing by passing this proposition that will be takin away is what was there since the beginning of time and that is the correct definition of marriage. NO rights, priveleges or respect will be takin away from domestic partnerships who are commited and define a relationship however they want to. So those that may come accross this blog please don't resort to making yourself look bad but rather make your point and debate like a normal human beings.

Past, Present, and Future

This not just another proposition, this proposition will have an immediate and long term impact of the sanctity of our families. As the younger generation who are able to vote, we are excited to vote, I think that I speak to all the young voters when I say it's pretty sweet to be voting for the next Woman Vice President or next African American President of the United States.
BUT
Our opportunity to show who we are and what we stand for is much bigger than that, the love that we know we will have for our future children is already being tested. Proposition 8 will be one of the most important votes that I will cast in November. As I listed in my last post the reasons for me are clear, and the way that I stated those reasons I hope that I did not affend anyone(if anyone actually reads this blog haha) the way that we are to go about this is not to attack those who are Homosexual but the pure Principle that Heavenly Father has given to his children Marraige ordained as between Man and Wife and that it is being taken away from us. It will affect your future family, it will affect you, it will affect the way that we worship, it may even affect where we can be married in the future. These are some serious things, and it is serious that we take action.
History

1. November 2000 - Proposition 22 was passed by 61% of the people of California to define marraige between and man and a woman.
2. May 2008 - Outrageous California Supreme Court decision that overturned Proposition 22 allowing the marraige of Homosexual couple valid in California.
3. November 2008 - Proposition 8 is passed to amend the constitution as defined between a man and a woman.

My 5 personal reasons WHY to vote "yes" on prop 8.

1. Marraige has been ordained from God as a Eternal relationship between a man and woman from the beginning of time with the example we are givin through Adam and Eve.

2. Those who are against the amendment state that this proposition takes away the rights of homesexual people saying they will not have the same opportunities as the rest of us. Where really all we are doing is taking the "title" of marraige and putting it back into it's original context. YES homosexual relationships will not have the "title" of marraige but thier whole line of attack is based on the rights they will have, and those will NOT be take from them.

3. Those against this Proposition state that the statement I made in #2 is like saying "its sound to me like I can drink out of that drinking fountain not this one right here" I say that is completely wrong. What about the rights of those who have a family those who are planning to have children here in California those values and principles that God has from before the beginning of time? are homosexuals not impinging thier rights on those people and those rights? Which leads me to my next point...

4. The effect that this proposition will have on the rest of our lives and our children's lives is HUGE and the destruction of the world as we know it. By this being taught in our schools (because by LAW marriage must be taught in schools) YOUR future children will be taught not that you need to marry a person of the opposite sex but that it does not matter what sex that person is. Then the view of marraige will become destorted through the "normality" of Homosexuality. Thus affecting the way we conduct marraige in California and the way our kids our affected through peer influence in schools. After all we do form our own opinions and ways of life based on the opinions of others while we are so young. And two mothers will distort that view for those of the adolescent age and the children of two mothers will say that it is ok.

5. My fith and final point and personal understanding. Those of us who are for this proposition are NOT "hating" on those who are homosexual(those that do hate homosexuals are not who I stand with in promoting this proposition and are promoting it for the wrong reasons). God loves each and everyone of his children in a way that a lot of us do not understand. And I personally do not have anything against those who have chosen to be gay I am against the PRINCIPLE of the whole situation NOT THE PERSON. Remember "The worth of souls is great in the sight of god" D+C 18:10-http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/18
BUT "your ways are not My ways saith the Lord". God gives all of us certain trials that we must face in this life, some have problems with: smoking, drinking, pornography, sex, violence or homosexuality. I am against those sins and I will not support something that combines a covenant so sacred as marraige with those sins.

Proposition 8 What you NEED to know! and www.protectmarraige.com

Proposition 8 places into the California Constitution the same language that voters already passed by 61% of the vote in 2000. This is necessary to overturn an outrageous California Supreme Court decision that overturned Proposition 22.

About Proposition 8Proposition 8
is simple and straightforward. It contains the same 14 words that were previously approved in 2000 by over 61% of California voters: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” Because four activist judges in San Francisco wrongly overturned the people’s vote, we need to pass this measure as a constitutional amendment to restore the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman.

Voting YES on Proposition 8 does 3 simple things:
It restores the definition of marriage to what the vast majority of California voters already approved and what Californians agree should be supported, not undermined.

It overturns the outrageous decision of four activist Supreme Court judges who ignored the will of the people.

It protects our children from being taught in public schools that “same-sex marriage” is the same as traditional marriage, and prevents other consequences to Californians who will be forced to not just be tolerant of gay lifestyles, but face mandatory compliance regardless of their personal beliefs.
